walodesign did a design study using MetaDesign's slide show program "Kai's Power Show" as a source of inspiration for the design of future business software. Here are the results of the second study:
Newly Designed Entry Screen (1) Note the new task menu! Kai Krause's photo has been moved to the upper right corner. The smaller windows to the left and right of the main screen now present important reports (left) and favorites (bookmarks) (right). AA a new possibility, users can view an animation of the screens (camera icon in the lower right). |
Newly Designed Entry Screen (2) Entry screen deactivated: Clicking the background makes the central screen more transparent and offers a better view of the background. The frame in the center displays a small-sized version of the current screen. Overview and Detail lead to the respective views (preset views are stored in memory dots). |
Newly Designed Address Screen (1) This screen adds a new features: notes. Users can write down notes that they usually would write on post its. Notes can be assembled in groups; these groups can be accessed from the menu in the upper right corner. Notes can be be specific to applications or always accessible. This time the small frame to the right displays modes (alternative windows). |
